Eligibility for Admission to the Bar
 

Any member in good standing of the Bar of the Supreme Court of Ohio is eligible. Local Rule 83.3(b).

Application for Admission
 

All applicants must submit a completed application to the Clerk's office pursuant to Local Rule 83.3.  Completed applications must be mailed to the city where you expect to be sworn in.

Application for Admission to the Bar Pursuant to Local Rule 83.3(c)(2)~Northern District of Ohio Members.

Application for Admission to the Bar Pursuant to Local Rule 83.3(c)(3)~Attorneys for the United States of America Who are Authorized by Statute to Appear in all Federal Courts and Assistant Federal Public Defenders.  

Deadlines for applications for admission under Local Rule 83.3(c)(1) are as follows:
  Cincinnati - June 22, 2012
Columbus - May 2, 2012
Dayton - May 15, 2012
 
The new dates for the Federal Court Practice Seminars are as follows:
CINCINNATI:
  June 22, 2012 - Seminar Registration Deadline Space is limited.  Registration will close when space is full or on the deadline, whichever comes first.  No registrations will be accepted after June 22, 2012

June 22, 2012 - Deadline for submitting an Application for Admission to the Clerk’s Office in order to be sworn in on June 29, 2012. Late applications will be returned.

  June 29, 2012 - Federal Court Practice Seminar Potter Stewart US Courthouse, Room B-17. Swearing-In Ceremony will take place immediately following the Federal Court Practice Seminar.

Columbus:
  May 2, 2012 - Seminar Registration Deadline Space is limited. Registration will close when space is full or on the deadline, whichever comes first.  No registrations will be accepted after May 2, 2012

Dayton:
  May 11, 2012 - Deadline for submitting an Application for Admission to the Clerk’s Office in order to be sworn in on May 19, 2012.

 

May 15, 2012 - Seminar Registration Deadline Attorneys wishing to be admitted to the Southern District of Ohio must have their Registration form in by this deadline. Registrations of other attorneys may be taken through May 15, 2012 or at the door. Late applications will be returned.

Fee for Admission to the Bar
  Effective 11/1/2011, a non-refundable fee of $176.00 must be tendered to the Clerk of Courts with the Application for Bar Admission. See Local Rule. 83.3(f)(2).
   
Participation by Attorneys Pro Hac Vice (Local Rule 83.3(e), 83.3(g)(4), 83.4(a) and General Order 10-02)
