Eligibility for Admission to the Bar
  Any member in good standing of the Bar of the Supreme Court of Ohio is eligible. Local Rule 83.4(b).
   
Application for Admission
 

All applicants must submit a completed application to the Clerk at least 20 days prior to the examination. Local Rule 83.4(c).

Examination for Admission
 


The exam is administered on the first Tuesday in June and December in Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus. Local Rule 83.4(d).

Fee for Admission to the Bar
  There is no fee required to sit for the examination, however, upon passing the exam, a $200.00 admission fee is required before being sworn into the bar.
   
Participation by Attorneys Pro Hac Vice (Local Rule 83.5(d) and General Order 07-1)
 
  • Any member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of any state, who is not otherwise eligible to become a member of the bar of this Court, may be permitted to appear and participate as counsel upon motion to the Court;
  • A motion for permission to appear Pro Hac Vice shall be accompanied by a current certificate of good standing by the highest court of any state, and the tender of $200.00 fee (for each attorney) to the Clerk of Court;
  • Should the application not be granted, the tendered fee will be returned.
