BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Norah McCann King was born in Steubenville, Ohio, in 1949. In 1971, she received her B.A.degree, cum laude, from Rosary College in River Forest, Illinois (now Dominican University). She received her J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from the Ohio State University College of Law in 1975.

Magistrate Judge King served, from 1975 to 1979, as a law clerk to United States District Judge Joseph P. Kinneary. She engaged in the private practice of law from 1979 to 1982, as counsel with Frost, King, Freytag and Carpenter in Columbus, Ohio. From 1980 to 1982, Judge King was also employed as an assistant professor at the Ohio State University College of Administrative Science.

Magistrate Judge King was appointed to her first eight-year term as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Ohio in June 1982, and has been re-appointed to two additional terms.

Over the years, Magistrate Judge King has taught, on an adjunct basis, courses in legal writing and mediation at the Ohio State University College of Law.
