Court hosts Naturalization Ceremony at Oakwood High School Jan. 23, 2025

On Jan. 23, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio hosted a naturalization ceremony at Oakwood High School. 

Before the ceremony, District Judge Michael Newman, Magistrate Judges Peter Silvain and Caroline Gentry, and Bankruptcy Court Judge Guy Humphrey spoke to the district’s 8th graders about being a Judge and the roles of the Judiciary. 

More than 35 people from more than 20 countries became citizens during the ceremony. High School students were able to watch the ceremony and see the Constitution in action.
