Contact the court reporter listed on the docket report to request a transcript. (You can access the docket report through PACER.) If the court reporter is listed as an official reporter on the docket report but is not shown below, please contact the local Clerk’s Office.
CASE ON APPEAL
When a case is pending on appeal, follow the Sixth Circuit’s instructions for requesting a transcript. You can find instructions and policy with regards to transcripts here:
Upon the filing of the request with the Sixth Circuit, any court reporter listed as a participant in the case will be sent notification.
DIGITALLY RECORDED PROCEEDINGS
For a transcript of a digitally recorded proceeding, please contact any of the court reporters in the city in which the hearing was held. They will work with the judicial staff to obtain the recording. You will be contacted once they determine how long it will take to prepare and the cost of the transcript.

TRANSCRIPT REDACTION POLICY
Below is a summary of the policy. For complete details please see our Transcript Redaction Policy Notice.
- A transcript filed by the court will be available at the office of the Clerk of Court for inspection only, for a period of 90 days from filing.
- During the 90-day period, a copy of the transcript may be obtained from the court reporter or transcriber at the rate established by the Judicial Conference. During the 90-day period the transcript will be available to court staff, at the public terminals in the clerk’s office, and remotely electronically available to any attorneys of record who have purchased a copy from the court reporter.
- After the 90-day period has ended, the transcript will be available for copying in the clerk’s office, and for download through PACER if not redacted ; or if redacted, the redacted version will be available.
