The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio held three special, off-site naturalization ceremonies on Monday, September 19, 2022, in conjunction with Constitution Day and Citizenship Day.

In total, 190 petitioners were sworn in at Miami University’s Hamilton Regional Campus, the University of Dayton School of Law, and the Ohio History Center.

Guest speakers at each event highlighted the virtues of a constitutional democracy as part of an ongoing effort to heighten awareness of the importance of civil discourse and the role of the courts in daily life.

Judges in the Southern District of Ohio have administered the citizenship oath to more than 7,400 petitioners in 2022.
