Updated Procedures for Pro Se Filings and Acceptance of
Payments in Response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

UPDATED SATURDAY, MARCH 21, 2020

The United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio has entered a new General Order
(General Order No. 20-05) regarding court operations in response to Coronavirus Disease 2019
(COVID-19). Effectively immediately, the Joseph P. Kinneary Courthouse (Columbus), the Potter
Stewart Courthouse (Cincinnati) and the Walter H. Rice Courthouse (Dayton) will be closed to the
public for a period of fourteen days (14) beginning March 23, 2020, except as stated in the General
Order.

The requirement that non-prisoner pro se litigants file exclusively in paper format is temporarily
suspended effective March 23, 2020 until April 6, 2020. During this limited time, non-prisoner pro se
litigants may e-mail documents in PDF format to the following e-mail box, and those documents will
be processed in the normal course: OHSD_Temporary_Pro_SE_Efiling@ohsd.uscourts.gov. There
will also be a drop box available at each courthouse for documents needing to be filed in paper.
The Court will only accept payments at the Court in the form of check or money order. Credit cards
and cash cannot be accepted during the courthouse closures. There will be a drop box available at
each courthouse for making payments.

For all other matters or questions, please contact the Clerk’s Office at (614) 719-3000 (Columbus),
(513) 564-7500 (Cincinnati) or (937) 512-1400 (Dayton).
