United States District Clerk of Court Richard Nagel was recognized by the Federal Bar Association Dayton Chapter with their Federal Service Award.

The Federal Service Award is given to a person who has demonstrated dedication and commitment to serving the federal government as evidenced by his or her professional or volunteer endeavors.

The FBA selected Nagel for the award in recognition of his commitment to supporting the Bench and Bar in Dayton and throughout the Southern District of Ohio. The FBA noted that Nagel worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to balance staff safety and the need to fulfill the Court’s duties and mission.

It also noted that Rich travels regularly throughout the Southern District of Ohio to ensure the Court is unified across its three seats, that he has helped immensely with getting important allocations, and he attends Dayton FBA Chapter meetings whenever possible. Nagel has helped make Dayton one of the best FBA chapters in the country. 

During an awards ceremony, Nagel said that he was grateful for the award and that he wouldn’t be able to have success without the help of the team around him and support of the Judges in the District.

Nagel was previously honored by the FBA Dayton Chapter with the Mona Guerrier Public Service Award in 2018.
