The Southern District of Ohio celebrated Constitution Day in September 2023 by holding naturalization ceremonies in all three cities – Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton.  These ceremonies are designed to swear in new citizens, but also to celebrate this important date with the new citizens.  In the three cities, these naturalization ceremonies on Constitution Day are now annual events.

In Dayton, U.S. District Judge Michael Newman presided over a naturalization ceremony at the University of Dayton School of Law with remarks by U.D.’s president, Dr. Eric Spina, along with Magistrate Judge Caroline Gentry from the U.S. District Court and Judge Guy Humphrey from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
