Juror Scam Alert – Please Read. Please be aware that a number of federal district courts around the country report that citizens in their districts are being targeted by a juror "phishing" email. "Phishing" scams are attempts by hackers or other unauthorized individuals to request personal information, usually for use in identify theft or other illegal endeavors.

The request looks convincingly official. It asks for personal information such as a social security number, date of birth, mother's maiden name, etc. A PDF form is attached to the message. Recipients are asked to provide the personal information in the form and email it back to the originator.

This type of request is not a legitimate message from a United States District Court!!

The United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio never requests that personal identification information be delivered in an email response. Any legitimate request by this Court for information is initiated by formal written correspondence requesting a response either to the official mail address for the Court or by accessing the official Court website at www.ohsd.uscourts.gov or at http://jury.ohsd.uscourts.gov.
